Located in Vancouver’s Kerrisdale neighbourhood at the southwest corner of Granville Street and 49th Avenue, Granville Gardens Retirement Residence offers hospitality services and personal assistance to support independence for seniors. The hospitality services include daily meals, housekeeping, laundry service, social and recreational opportunities, on-going wellness counseling and 24-hr emergency support.
The 3-storey project with 62 elegantly appointed suites is configured in plan as a T-shape oriented in a north-south direction. The building layout and orientation with three residential wings breaks down the overall building massing and creates three open space realms: a large landscaped south-facing private courtyard for residents, a public entrance courtyard fronting onto 49th Avenue and a smaller landscaped area along Granville Street.
The common amenity areas are generous and include a fireside lounge, dining room, recreation games room, bistro cafe, a library nook, arts and crafts studio, a multi-purpose great room, TV lounge, beauty salon, and a private party room. The interior spaces are finished with a high level of craftsmanship creating a comfortable residential environment. The courtyards extensively landscaped with planting and trees have generous patios, benches along pathways and water feature ponds provide quiet secure places for residents and visitors to sit or stroll.
