The new Metrotown Plan calls for a creation of a new Beresford great street, pedestrian-oriented boulevard with art installations, shops, cafés and outdoor seating which connects to the community to Maywood.
Silver is a 38-storey residential tower, set on a 4-storey podium of townhomes and flats with a total of 288 units.
The podium level anchors the building with natural materials to help integrate it into the neighbourhood. Its double-height lobbies will be fully glazed to let light and air define a sense of arrival.
A restored heritage craftsman style home comprising four stratas was relocated on the site to face McKay Avenue, making it a central feature of the Beresford Art Walk situated amidst open space, landscaping and a pedestrian plaza.
A stacked brick pattern incorporated into the lower façade adds to the contextual feel of the building presenting a warm and inviting backdrop to the shops and cafés that will populate the street.
